Air Force MARS Reorganization Central

15 June 2008 - Today Chief Air Force MARS, Al Eiremann, made the AF MARS reorganization official with the appointment of John, AFF1C, as Chair person for the reorganization.
We will keep you informed of the latest information available as it comes to us. In the mean time a little history might be in order.
With the change in MARS mission from "health and welfare" traffic to providing Emergency Communications to governmental agencies, Federal and State, MARS was soon aligned with the Federal Emergency Management Administration, FEMA. And it was immediately apparent that in order to adequately perform our task it would be necessary to realign the MARS regional structure along the same geographic lines as FEMA. This means all three services, not just Air Force MARS. Navy MARS was the first to complete this task, closly followed by Army MARS. While all this was happening Air Force MARS underwent a number of changes at the top. These changes more or less prevented AF MARS from completing this challenging task. This change is very necessary and very complicated, but we feel that we have the best talent available to deal with those challenges and after all is said and done AF MARS will be better equippied to meet the ECOM mission challenges that lie ahead.
Below you will find a map depicting the FEMA geographical bounderies. This will give you an idea of the scope of the upcoming changes.
Come back often; I'm certain we will be seeing a lot of vital information being posted.
