AFN2XC’s update on AAN4ZH (Jack Satterfield-Port-au-Prince-Haiti).

More progress today!

We ran the first phone patches for AAN4ZH and this evening AFN2EC received a test Winlink E-mail from Jack.

Also in this morning's set of contacts, Jack stated that the field hospital he's with at the airport has not had direct communications with the USNS Comfort hospital ship offshore. Jack came up on Marine CH. 16, contacted the ship, and the hospital was in direct comms with the hospital all day.

He said that emergency cases flowed into the hospital from the time they arrived until 3:30 AM today and they got very little sleep last night. He was on the air again at 7:30 EST this morning and ran patches until about 10:30. He came up again on the PE at around 5:00 PM to give a short SITREP and said that he was closing station for the night...hopefully to get some sleep and to get ready for tomorrow.

Looks like a very successful mission for MARS and the medical team Jack is supporting!

73,

Jim
