Update from AFN2XC regarding Jack Satterfield in Haiti; received 0400Z 31 Jan 2010

At 0125Z this evening, I responded to a call from Jack Satterfield who is using the agency call sign AAN4ZH and is operational from the Port-au-Prince Airport!

He said that he was just now setting up the station and was doing a quick radio check - they must have had a very busy day. According to the plan, at this stage of his deployment he is expected to be running 100 watts to a G5RV. Once he adjusted his mic gain, had a great signal into Central New York State.

Jack said that he would be back "later" with some phone patch requests but we have heard nothing further so far.

There are five Phone Patch Net stations standing by at this time monitoring PB and coordinating among ourselves on PA.

If there is nothing more heard from AAN4ZH by 0400Z, I will close my station and check back in on PE tomorrow morning.

So far, so good!
